SOKAPU Youth Wing, Zango Kataf set 28th April 2018 For Political Debate between the two candidates contesting for LG Chairmanship



Debate is a contention in argument; strife, dissension, quarreling, controversy; especially a formal discussion of subjects before a public assembly or legislature, in parliament or in any deliberative assembly.
From the above definition one will easily understand what a political debate is all about. As political debate is the avenue where political aspirants from different parties argue their way through the heart of the electorates by answering effectively and intelligently the questions that are thrown at them and mostly from their parties manifesto. This can also afford the electorates the opportunity to clear certain controversies as it surround their candidature and personality. At the end of the debate, the panel of judges score each participant in the manner he/she answered the questions, thus a winner is announced with the electorates to decide who to vote based on the bases of individual performance at the end of the debate.
Political debate is now a modern tool use to ascertain candidates capability, potentiality and credibility. Its also provide the electorates a wider knowledge in assessing the intellegent quotient of each individual candidate contesting for a legislative business, the outcome is adjudged based on individual performance at the debate.
It’s on this light that the SOKAPU Youths Wing Chairman, Zango Kataf Local Government, Comrade Ishaya Ayuba Ranga disclosed to newsmen after the Branch Executive Council Meeting (BEC) at Zonkwa of its readiness to organize a political debate between Hon. John Hassan (APC) and Dr. Elias Manza (PDP) who have thrown their weight in contesting for the forthcoming Local Government Chairmanship election.
The debate is slated for 28th April, 2018, it could also be recall that the Local Government election is scheduled to hold on the 12th May, 2018.
The SOKAPU Youths Wing Zango Kataf branch’s chairman also called for unity among the four major tribes and the Hausa/Fulani in the Local Govenment. He also used the opportunity to call on all the youths to go and register for their permanent voters card which is the weapon for their freedom in the forthcoming Local Government and General elections.The youths were admonished to vote for credible candidates irrespective of their party affliations.
The branch chairman applauded the youths for the act of maturity and patriotism shown at the just concluded parties primaries, in this vein, he pleaded for same gesture at the forthcoming LGs elections.
